The Millbrook Farmers’ Market is gearing up for another great season of delicious local fare brought to you by our wonderful ensemble of resident growers, bakers and artisan makers. We are so fortunate to have access to such a great selection of locally grown and lovingly prepared foods.
This season will kick off with an early bird market on Sunday, April 22, usual time and place – 10:00am to 1:00pm on the grounds of the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin Street. You can expect to find our usual medley of meats and fish, baked goods, maple syrup, honey, preserves, wine, organic fair trade coffee/chocolate and pet treats. There will also be a wide assortment of vegetable and flower seedlings for sale to help get your own gardens growing.
As the season progresses, we will have a full slate of vendors offering a wide variety of locally grown, harvested and prepared foods, including organic produce. Our market also now includes a small number of local vendors who make and sell lovely one-of-a-kind handcrafted items.
And what would the market be without some grand entertainment. We welcome back our stupendous line-up of local musicians who bring such sweetness and delight to the market. Also returning this season are the Millbrook Library’s super popular book sales and the beloved StoryTree for Kids hosted by the Old Millbrook School Family Centre.
This year’s opening market day also coincides with Earth Day. To honour this occasion, we will once again host a local seed swap. If you have (or anticipate having) any leftover flower or vegetable seeds from this year, please bring them to the market on April 22 in marked envelopes and swap them for something new and exciting.
