Millbrook Farmers’ Market Returns

For those who love everything local, there is good news about the Millbrook Farmers’ Market.

Under new management, the event will happen every week, running Sundays from 10 am to 1pmat the Millbrook South Cavan Public School from now until October 25th.

Not all vendors will participate in each event. The largest group of vendors will continue to participate in the last market of the month. Max Chalovich has assumed responsibility for managing the local market. His will be a familiar face at the market, having been a vendor himself with his business, Otonabee Microgreens.

Among the weekly vendors signed up so far are Otonabee Microgreens, Clement Poultry and Orchards, Jam Cupboard, Gifts from the Hart, Millbrook Pet Care (dog treats), Basoil Corp and the Cheese Union. There are many spots available for more weekly participants and anyone interested is invited to contact Max atmillbrookfarmersmkt@gmail.com.

Bi-weekly participants include Garden Hill Farmers Market, Jess Kitchen, Fields Farmstead, Millbrook Orchards, Mr & Mrs Pierogi, Soul Soup, and Frequency Glass. They will be joined at the monthly events by vendors including Something with Roots, Chaga Health and Wellness Inc, Magic Oven Bakery, Foxglove Botanicals, Pottery by Janette, and Hunky Dory Smoked Fish & Garden Fish.

Construction on the school over the summer will affect the specific location of the market. For the first few months it will operate in the south parking lot facing County Rd. 10, but in July and August, the market will relocate to the hidden parking lot on the north side of the school to allow contractors access to the school roof. Once the roof construction is complete, the market returns to the south parking lot again. Come out and support your local growers and artisans at the market on Sundays from now until the end of October.
