The hidden garden of Kathryn McHolm in nearby Welcome has been called a ‘floral oasis’. Her unique place has been the subject of multiple bus tours, has been included in books and magazines since the 1990s and featured in magazines such as Canadian Gardening and Harrowsmith Country Life. Ms. McHolm, avid gardener, artist and conservationist designed the Port Hope ecology garden and has written numerous articles on diverse subjects such as kitchen gardens, native plants, basketmaking, environmental art, and even adobe oven construction.

Each year Kathryn McHolm throws open her garden gate for the ‘In a Garden’ event, a show and sale of works inspired by the garden, from the garden or for the garden.

Kathryn will be discussing the evolution of her garden and the topic: “Is it a garden or a habitat….depends where you stand”.

All are welcome to participate in the always fun, casual and informative garden club meetings. Mark April 6th on your calendar!  Admission is only $2.00.
