Millbrook and District Lions Club Present Books to Promote Literacy

On June 22 and 23, members of the Millbrook and District Lions Club visited North Cavan and Millbrook/ South Cavan Public Schools to give each of the senior kindergarten students a book, as a way of celebrating their promotion to Grade 1.

This was part of a larger literacy initiative that was kicked off at the Lions International Convention in Hamburg, Germany in 2013.  At that convention, Lions around the world were asked to find ways of promoting literacy in their own communities…
