Photo supplied. Millbrook Rep Team have learned to work together during the season and look forward to the upcoming playoffs where they can demonstrate their team’s skills.
The Millbrook Stars Midget Rep team had a strong finish to their regular season after a rough start at the beginning of the year. In November they travelled to Wingham for a Silver Stick tournament.
While it wasn’t a success on the ice, it was a good bonding experience for the team and their game improved dramatically following that weekend. In the 15 games they have played since then, their record is 8-5-2. In December they travelled to Parry Sound for the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Midget Classic. They were the only DD centre competing against CC, B and BB centres. They tied their first game and won the next two, moving them into a Semi-Final game vs Huntsville. The boys had an excellent game scoring 1st, and holding the lead twice in the game before Huntsville tied it up late in the 2nd period. Huntsville got the go ahead in the 3rd period and while Millbrook had many chances they just couldn’t tie it up. Great outcome boys!! Now they head into playdowns for DD centres and we wish them and all Millbrook Rep teams good luck in their playdowns and quest for Red Caps!!! Go Stars Go!!!
