Marissa carefully cultivates and converts a variety of herbs into teas, skin care and medicinal products.
Marissa is a farmer and herbalist who recently joined the ranks of vendors at the Millbrook Farmers’ Market. She grows high quality medicinal and culinary herbs on her quarter acre property outside Cobourg. All her products are crafted with care and with the highest standard of quality in mind.
All of her herbs are carefully tended, harvested at their peak and dried to preserve the potency of their medicinal qualities and their distinct aromas. All herbs are grown organically at the farm or locally through responsible wild harvesting.
Products include food items such as teas and herbs for food preparation including familiar herbs such as sage, peppermint and marjoram and a variety of tea blends. A line of skin care products include calendula oil and salves. Marissa also produces hydrosols using yarrow, peppermint or marigold which have a variety of applications. These distillations of plant matter incorporate the plant’s aromatic oils and phytonutrients and can be used as toners as part of a skin care routine, as body sprays, room sprays, ritual sprays, or in aromatherapy.
They can be applied as a mist to the face prior to the application of a moisturizer to improve absorption and are soothing and help balance the pH level of the skin.
Marissa’s plot is part of a Foragers Farms, which is a certified grower of vegetables flowers and seedlings offering their products at farmers’ markets and at the farmgate located at 3517 Rowe Rd. in Cobourg. Welcome to Millbrook, Marissa! KG
