On behalf of the Peterborough Branch of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario (RWTO/OERO), I would like to thank Bonnie at ‘Bear Essentials’, the BIA and all of Millbrook for the incredible opportunity to have a booth at your annual Ladies’ Night. We were pleased to introduce the milk bag mattress project to many who stopped by and we were impressed by the number of ladies who are already saving bags and dropping them off at the Community Care office on King Street, the number who said they will start saving them and by those from out-of-town who asked if they could save bags and have them picked up. (We also appreciate the ladies at the Manor who have been saving bags since last fall.) We had wonderful ‘classroom memories’ when young girls learned to loop strips and weave them into a row on our special ‘pink’ mattress. They thought it was a great craft and suggested that they would like to participate in this project at their schools. Thank you, again, Millbrook residents and all visitors for supporting this project and learning a bit about our organization.
In Caring and Sharing,
