Letter to the Editor – February 2021

My sincerest apologies for the lengthy delay in posting this thank you letter however the sentiment and gratitude are just as strong today as a year ago.

The Millbrook and District Food Share would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of three volunteers who have left the agency in 2019. We thank Marie Swan who was a committed volunteer at the food share for over 20 years. As well, we’d like to thank Brian and Lynda Reynolds, who have been hardworking and energetic volunteers at the Food Share for over 5 years. Brian was a member of the executive since 2015 and both he and Lynda spent many hours picking up and delivering orders from both Kawartha Food Share as well as Millbrook Foodland.  Brian was also a group leader overseeing the food share program on the 2nd Tuesdays of the month.

Thank you to all for your contributions to this program.

Tamara Easto, Communications Officer, Millbrook and District Food Share

The Millbrook Legion would like to take this opportunity to thank to citizens of Cavan-Monaghan and surrounding communities for all your support last year.

Our Pop-Up BBQ’s were very successful. The craft sale and the patio being open gave us a chance to meet up with friends if just for a little while. Our clubroom was open most of the summer out on the patio.

The Legion mask sale helped with the Poppy Fund. Thank you to Millbrook Foodland, Millbrook Farm Supply and Marlin Travel for selling them in their stores.

Thank you to Sign a Rama, Dawson Tree Farm, Millbrook Farm Supply, Natures Grove Design, Kawartha Retreads and Karen Graham for their donations. They were very much appreciated!

We hope to get the BBQ’s going again in the late spring. The Clubroom will be operating as before on the patio. We are looking forward to our annual Bike Run for Wounded Warriors of Canada. I believe it will be later in the summer this year. Hopefully we will be back to normal in the fall. Stay Safe.

Royal Canadian Legion Br. 402 Executive
