Referring to my good friend Andy Harjula’s Letter to the Editor in the January Issue of the Millbrook Times:
It worries me to think that some of us may be ‘pitting’ a new fire hall against a new Community Centre. The reality is: we want them both; we need them both; and we are going to get them both. With positive energy, let’s celebrate the planning and fiscal responsibility of everyone involved in these endeavours.
Let’s borrow a page from our Fire Chief Bill Balfour and our Parks and Facilities Manager Gerry Barker. In their shared office space at the Township Offices, they are collaborating towards these two projects. Let’s work together as a community, led by our present Township Council, to make both of these important and exciting goals happen in a timely fashion.
When the ribbons are cut on both projects, I am suggesting that Andy joins me at the opening of our new Fire Hall and then walks with me around the exercise track at our new Community Centre.
