Legion Update

With the help of fundraising efforts from over 55 volunteers, the Legion has completed the construction of a new ramp at the back of their building to provide easy access to their second story location. The building had previously been serviced by a motorized chair lift, but at the age of 20 years, it was no longer an option. Legion members decided to go the low-tech route and have a ramp installed. The new ramp was quickly built and installed by Mark Goslin of Goslin Construction in time for the upcoming Community Care luncheons and foot care clinics as well as regular patrons of social events hosted by the Legion.

One of the biggest events hosted by the Legion is the annual Remembrance Dinner scheduled for November 7th. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased in the office in the morning or in the clubroom during afternoons. Of course the traditional Remembrance Day service takes placed at 11 am on November 11th at the Cenotaph in Millbrook and the following Sunday at the Bethany Cenotaph. Local Legion President Diann Corfe encourages the public to attend these events to remind us of the men and women who have served their country, many of whom lost their lives to protect our way of life.
