Learn How to Attract Summer Birds at the next Millbrook & Area Garden Club Meeting

If you have been keeping your bird feeder filled all winter, you have most likely been enjoying the activity of Chickadees, Nuthatches, perhaps a pair of Cardinals, and other species.

On Wednesday, April 3rd, as the spring season warms up, and just as the migratory birds begin to arrive, the Millbrook & Area Garden Club will welcome Paul Oliver of the Urban Nature Store to speak on the topic “Attracting Summer Birds to Your Garden”. Paul Oliver is the owner of 5 Urban Nature Stores across the G.T.A., plus a location in Kingston and Buffalo, N.Y. The Oshawa location at 370 Taunton Rd. E. is the closest store and well worth the drive to find everything imaginable to do with birds, butterflies, bats and more – bird houses and feeders, bird baths, bird feed, binoculars, note cards, jewelry, to name a few products. Paul also posts a Canadian Birding and Nature blog called “Backyard Dispatches”.  Be sure not to miss this meeting to find out about the thrill of having Baltimore Orioles, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Hummingbirds and other summer visitors to your garden.

The Millbrook & Area Garden Club meets at 7:30 p.m. in St. Thomas Anglican Church Hall, 16 Centre St., Millbrook.  Please park in the back parking lot. Admission is $3.00 at the door. Cups will no longer be available, so be sure to bring your own mug. For more information contact Glen Spurrell, nate@nexicom.net, 705-932-1231.
