Last Market Sunday October 25

Make sure to come out to the last market of the season to support our local vendors. Thanks to by Leni Rautiainen and other volunteers for organizing this wonderful community event.

Our 2020 market season will come to a close on Sunday, October 25.

In spite of the pandemic, our local growers and producers have once again excelled at providing our community with a wonderfully rich bounty of fresh locally grown food.  The market takes place at the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin Street from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

We are excited to have a new guest vendor join us for our last market.  Established by Millbrook resident Jana Crawford, Rice Lake Beer and Cider Company began operations this past July after three years in the making.  Using all locally sourced apples, Rice Lake Hard Cider produces both apple and cranberry apple varieties.  Production takes place on the south shore of Rice Lake with a storefront in the village of Baltimore.

Following the amazing success of last year’s inaugural Christmas Market, we had hoped to put on another Christmas Market this year.  However, because of current circumstances we have regrettably decided not to proceed.  Last year, we were able to take advantage of a small window of opportunity to utilize the old Millbrook arena before it was repurposed as a soccer/lacrosse facility with artificial turf installed.  As well, the ongoing uncertainty with the COVID-19 situation remains a concern.  Our priority continues to be community safety.

So come out while you can and take advantage of this last chance to fill those pantries and stock those freezers before the winter arrives.  Get acquainted with our newest local cidery.  We are also so delighted to be able to have music at the market again.  Local musician Benj Rowland will be on hand to soothe your soul and gladden your heart.

Thank you all for continuing to support the Millbrook Farmers’ Market particularly during this challenging season.  Stay safe everyone and see you in April.
