Kawartha Downs Hosts and Old-Fashioned County Fair This Weekend

The doors open on this year’s Kawartha County Fair at Kawartha Downs on Friday at 2pm, where visitors will be treated to a classic midway operated by Campbell Amusements, a vendor village with treats, beauty products, crystals and gemstone jewelry and more.  Games for kids and adults are cash only. There are no livestock shows this year due to scheduling conflicts, but they will return in a bigger and better show next year.  Earl Cochrane and his team of horses will be offering horse drawn wagon riders during the day, and a variety of food choices will be available with a food truck from Foodland and The Twisted Fork food truck.

On Friday evening the entertainment is loud and proud when the Ontario Truck and Tractor pull begins at 7pm.  Each evening concludes with a large fireworks display at dusk by Celebration Fireworks.   On Saturday and Sunday the venue is open from noon to 11pm, with a demolition derby on the track at 5pm on Saturday.  On Sunday evening, Peterborough’s Gunslingers will open for Serena Ryder beginning at 6:30 pm, with Serena hitting the stage at 8pm.

The price of all events is included in the admission costs.  Admission is $25 for adults, $15 for 6-18 years of age and kids five and under are free.  There is plenty of free parking as well.  Come join the fun! KG
