Last month, Carrie Fitzgerald organized a Craft show that was held at Maple Leaf Park. The $2 entrance fee was collected on behalf of the EarlyON Child and Family Centre. Along with proceeds from previous events, Carrie will donate $986 to the local organization. They are truly grateful!

Nancy Hurley, Administrator for the EarlyON Child and Family Centre, will lead a virtual book club over Zoom to discuss the book “Self-Reg”, by Dr. Stuart Shanker.  Participants will meet virtually each Wednesday from 7:30pm – 8:30pm for six weeks beginning October 7th.

This program was held earlier this year and was much appreciated by the participants.

One parent explained that despite an initial reluctance about her ability to find the time to make this commitment during the early days of the pandemic, she found the experience very rewarding, saying, “the content was engaging and enjoyable.  By the time I was a few Zoom calls and chapters deep, I was already noticing many positive changes not only in my child, but myself as well as the relationship between my partner and child (I would give him a quick summary after each call).  Now, when we experience hiccups in relation to behaviour, we ask ourselves is this a misbehaviour or a stress behaviour? Why now? …..if you are looking to find more balance in your family’s life, make the time for this amazing book club, … the other parents you meet along the way is a wonderful bonus.”

To participate in this free program, email Nancy Hurley at nhurleyomsfc@outlook.com to register…..you get to keep the book!
