Need something to do inside but not at your house? March is shaping up to be a busy month at the CMLibraries! Not only are we finishing up our Seniors Community Grant this month, but we are also hosting a variety of activities for March Break. This winter has been a bit challenging with the weather, if we need to adjust our programming schedules we will post updates on our website and social media.
March Break:
Pancakes & Pajamas- Join us at our Bruce Johnston Branch on Tuesday, March 11th from 5:30-6:30pm for our first March Break activity. Come to the library in your cozy pajamas and get ready to make some delicious pancakes!
Starting from Seed- Join us at our Millbrook Branch on Wednesday, March 12th at 10:30am to learn how to plant seeds. We will be learning how to determine if a seed is viable, and which seeds work the best for your space.
Flight School- Stop by our Bruce Johnston Branch on Thursday, March 13th at 10:30am to learn how to make paper airplanes. Once you learn the basics, put your creativity to the test and decorate your airplane. Race your opponent to see who is faster or try to get your plane through the obstacle course.
Postcards to the Front- Helen and Jean-Michele (local residents) will be coming to our Millbrook Branch on Friday, March 14th from 10:30am-12:00pm to discuss Postcards to the Front. Participants will get the opportunity to write postcard messages of support to the Defenders at Ukraine’s front lines: women and men, soldiers, medics, drivers, cooks, volunteers.
Seniors Community Grant:
A Feast of Stories- We will be welcoming back Hermione Rivison (local storyteller) to our Bruce Johnston Branch on Tuesday, March 4th from 1:00-3:00pm. Hermione will be leading us in a creative storytelling workshop that will allow participants to come away with a new story to tell.
Scrapbooking Group- Vonda (creative memories consultant) will be returning to our Bruce Johnston Branch on Tuesday, March 11th from 1:00-4:00pm to host our scrapbooking group. Please bring your own consumable items, such as pictures, albums, cardstock, decorative paper, adhesive, and embellishments. Vonda will have a variety of tools for participants to use, such as photo trimmers and punches.
Needle Felting- Join us in welcoming back Andréa (needle felter extraordinaire) to our Bruce Johnston Branch on Tuesday, March 18th from 1:00-3:00pm. Andréa will be helping us forget our winter blues by creating a spring flower.
Armchair Travel: Vietnam to Cambodia- Helen and Jean-Michele will be coming back to our Millbrook Branch on Wednesday, March 19th from 1:00-3:00pm to chat about their travels. They will be talking about what they learned about the culture, history, and geography of the area, as well as the wonderful people and delicious food.
