The Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society is excited to present “A Dynamic Talk about Indigenous Peoples Then and Now; Here and Beyond” on Thursday, October 23rd, 7 pm at the Millbrook Royal Canadian Legion Branch 402 Hall, 9 King St East, Millbrook.
Our speaker is David Beaucage Johnson, artist, geographer, historian and Instructor in the Continuing Education Program at Trent University. He is a Mississauga Anishnaabe of the Turtle Clan living in Curve Lake.
David’s interests in local Indigenous history and culture are reflected in previous presentations including at the Haliburton Highlands Museum and Canadian Canoe Museum as well as work as a cultural advisor for Petroglyphs Provincial Park. His artistic works have been displayed in multiple regional exhibitions and is included in many national and international collections.
