Residents come to the Millbrook Library to share their stories with members of the Historical Society.
On January 29, the Historical Society (MCHS) launched our Remembering our History project with a Lunch & Learn gathering at the Millbrook branch of Cavan Monaghan Libraries. An enthusiastic crowd of just over 30 from all around our township shared stories as varied as the individuals who related them. It was both valuable and entertaining, and served as a starting point for the oral history project being led by MCHS Board member Karyn Swaffiel.
The aim of this launch was to encourage and identify individuals who are interested in sharing memories and experiences that relate to this area, and find volunteers who are keen to meet with these storytellers to record them.
