Historical Society Gets a Shot in the Arm

The Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society was honoured to get a surprise present this Christmas season.

The Downtown BIA Christmas in the Village organizing committee came up with a wonderful addition to their annual festival with the Winter Wonderland Tree Garden sponsored by ReMax Eastern Realty Inc.  Broker Kathie Lycett donated eight trees and then local businesses and enterprises got to work and decorated them in fine fashion:  a big thank you goes out to the 4th Line Theatre, Cavan Monaghan Township, Galerie Q, The Joneses, Joseph’s Barber Shop, Millbrook Valley Dental, the Quilter’s Bolt and the Valley Shoppe.  They went all out!

The trees were then raffled off to the following lucky winners: Carolyn Brackenridge, Julie Carthew, Lucy Danford (winner of two trees!), Kim Dobson, Jennifer Guthrie, Jocelyne Maine and Sharon Roffey.  Congratulations to the winners!

The BIA’s Christmas in the Village organizing committee endorsed the suggestion by ReMax’s Kathie Lycett that the proceeds of the raffle be donated to the Historical Society.  We are most grateful for this support, and thank all those who participated for making this a beautiful addition to the event and a shot in the arm for us.
