These unique panels have been crafted by Anne and Peter Ramsay for the Blocks and Blooms event being held Saturday, June 23, 10 am to 4 pm in Millbrook.  The event is organized by the Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society, with generous support from the Millbrook Downtown BIA and Nexicom, along with a host of volunteers.

Blocks and Blooms invites ticket-holders to stroll through close to a dozen distinctive gardens and admire up close many of Millbrook’s heritage properties, and features the Airing of the Quilts, a spectacular display of both new and heirloom quilts, curated by The Millbrook Needlers Guild with Elaine Young taking the lead along with Kate DeKlerk of The Quilter’s Bolt.

The lap quilt created by Anne uses the traditional Storm at Sea pattern.  Peter’s unique stained glass panel, Spring Fling, was designed especially for Blocks and Blooms and measures 101/2 inches by 17 inches.  The background is a typical heritage quilt pattern and the tulip represents blooms in our gardens.  The stained glass panel will be on display at The Quilter’s Bolt starting May 1, and raffled to one lucky winner.  Tickets for both the event and the raffle will be on sale May 15 at The Quilter’s Bolt and Bear Essentials.  Event tickets will also be available in Port Hope at Furby House Books and in Peterborough at the Avante-Garden Shop.
