A March break tradition continues as Funfolks Theatricals prepares for its twelfth season providing fun-filled family entertainment delivered by the local youth under the expert guidance of local children’s author and Cavan resident, Shan McFadden.
This year’s cast of twenty-four children continue to prepare for four performances of this year’s play, where they will showcase their talents with well-rehearsed lines, song, and dance.
Volunteers and performers make sure their productions are professionally delivered with creative sets, costumes and confident performances by youngsters as young as four, who develop poise, presence and above all, confidence as they participate in all facets of play productions.
Entitled “Calling all Sidekicks”, this year’s production is McFadden’s fifth show as both writer and director. This light-hearted story features evil villains, superheroes and young heroes- in- training working to save the world. There is even a car chase to round out the action. Performances run from March 15th to 17th, with tickets priced at $5 including light refreshments and door prizes. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door, however purchasing advance tickets is recommended as last year, all performances were sold out.
Performances take place at the Millbrook Royal Canadian Legion, located at 9 King St. East. Come out and support this dedicated group to appreciate the results of their hours of rehearsal in their original, entertaining performances.
