A wide variety of local products are available each month.

NEXT MARKET: June 27th, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

From cash crops and dairy to livestock and produce, Canada has a long history of feeding the world.  So what does that mean to our local community?

Locally grown food creates important economic opportunities, provides health benefits and helps to reduce environmental impact. Additionally, many people feel local food tastes better, and I would agree, and lasts longer.

However, the term “local” varies, there isn’t one quantifiable way to express from how far away your food is coming. It could mean products from farmers you know and can talk to or it could also mean food grown in Ontario or Canada. Whichever definition works for you and your family, knowing where your food comes from and the farming practices and production practices of the folks that grow and produce it are important factors in choosing the best way to source food.

A great way to learn more about where your food comes from is at our local farmers’ market, where you can ask questions directly of those who produce it. Our vendors take great pride and care in their work, and they will be thrilled to share their story. So join us at the market on June 27 from 10-1pm and ask our vendors about the products they sell.
