Garden Club Events

Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 26th when the Millbrook & Area Garden Club will be at the Farmer’s Market at the Old Millbrook School from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. with a wide variety of plants for sale, from tomato plants, to potted perennials. You will be sure to find some new and colourful additions to your garden.  This is a major fundraiser for the club so if you have surplus Begonia, Canna lilies, Dahlia, etc. that you have over-wintered, please pot them up and bring them along to the sale.

For our June 5th meeting, we are fortunate to have Paul LaPorte speaking on “Building Biodiversity with Native Plants” at the June 5th meeting. Paul is past Vice-president and President of the North American Native Plant Society.  For those of you who are interested in adding native plants to your garden, the North American Native Plant Society is holding a Native Plant Sale on Sat. May 4th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Toronto Botanical Garden, 777 Lawrence Ave. E., Toronto. The sale features wildflowers, shrubs, trees, ferns, vines, grasses, and sedges.
