On the afternoon of April 13th, Galerie Q welcomed the Peterborough Chinese Association Members and their families in their first painting event with artist Valerie Kent of Cavan Art Gallery and Studio. An experienced teacher, Valerie provided step by step instruction adapting to the participants. Everyone enjoyed watching the demonstrations and was able to follow along. Every painting took on its own unique quality as each person added their own interpretation to their work.
The visitors arrived at Galerie Q and received a private tour of the art collection, followed immediately by the acrylic painting workshops. At the end of the workshops everyone was pleased with their pieces, even though for many this was their first painting experience.
Valerie was also pleased with the event, saying, “It was a pleasure to meet and to paint with such an enthusiastic group. They took to painting the best way, ready to have fun and to enjoy the process. Thank you to Galerie Q for hosting such a dynamic event.”
