On Thursday August 22, join local families as they spend a summer evening watching a movie outdoors hosted by the Old Millbrook School Family Centre. Plan to come in time to get settled for a 8:10 pm start on the west side of the property just past the playground at 1 Dufferin Street in Millbrook. Please bring chairs, blankets and anything else that will make you comfortable. Snacks will be available for sale as part of the fundraising efforts. Organizers ask that any food brought from home is nut free. In the spirit of fundraising, organizers are asking for a gently-suggested donation offering of $20-$25 per family. All children and youth must be accompanied by an adult for the sake of safety.
Each year, the Old Millbrook School Family Centre is responsible for fundraising $5000 of its annual operating budget. These funds help supply a healthy snack each day for the children and contribute to the establishment of high quality learning environments as well as ongoing repairs and maintenance when required. Event organizers hope to raise $2500 through this event as part of their fundraising mandate. Supporters of this event will be supporting the sustainability of this valuable community resource.
