Friendship Force Entertains
Last month, members of the social club for young adults on the autism spectrum took their show on the road, delivering a performance of Christmas music on their chimes. They performed for members of the Lions’ Club at their December dinner, residents of Centennial Place and the Millbrook Manor. Lead by volunteer Debbie Garret, members introduced each piece with a brief background of the song and delivered a brief performance that demonstrated their growing confidence in their instruments. The group practices each week and looks forward to performing in other venues as a way to introduce them to the community and help them participate in community events. They also entered a float in last month’s Santa Claus parade. The group is grateful for the generous support of the Millbrook Lion’s, the municipality and the Police Services Board.
