Cathy Meehan, pictured here, the Office Manager at Centennial Place, is inviting residents to meet with a group of volunteers who prepare tax returns for free. Your return needs to be simple with an income under $40,000 to be eligible for this free service. These volunteers are associated with Revenue Canada and some have over 10 years of experience.
Only the preparation is free, if you owe taxes to Revenue Canada, that you must pay yourself.
The clinic will begin at nine am and end at three pm on Friday, March 24, with a short break for lunch. Please bring your 2015 tax return, if you have it. Also bring any relevant tax notices for 2016, including rent receipts, if you pay rent or a property tax receipt. When you arrive at Centennial Place, remember to take a number to keep your place in line, just like at the IKEA store.
