Fleming Students Locate Hidden Cemetery Monuments

Monday June 2nd, thirteen students from the Cultural Heritage Conservation Management Program at Sir Sanford Fleming College along with Dr. Amy Barron Instructor came to St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery/Chapel to “find a grave”. The students worked in teams and completed a section of the cemetery for us, recording monument information and then later uploading this to the find a grave website. To the surprise of cemetery Trustees, the students discovered what seemed to be a small stone in the grass. With some careful removal of the grass they found two monuments, both acknowledging members of the Huston family.

The Trustees thank the Fleming students and their Instructor Amy Barron for their work. They hope to continue this exploration with students next year.
