Farmers’ Market to Open June 28 with COVID-19 Precautions

The Millbrook Farmers’ Market is set to open its 2020 season on Sunday, June 28.  It will be a different kind of market this year as we put in place all of the necessary COVID-19 safety measures required by Peterborough Public Health.   Our priority this season is to keep everyone as safe as possible while shopping at the market.

We will continue to operate on the 4th Sunday of each month until October.  Hours of operation will be 10:00am to 1:00pm at the parking lot of the Old Millbrook School.  We have had to eliminate customer parking in the market area in order to provide more physical distancing space between our vendors.  There will also be no access to the Old Millbrook School building.

Vendors, volunteers and customers will all be required to abide by strict new health and safety regulations that will be in place for the duration of the pandemic.

Only one person per family is permitted to shop.  There will be one entry and one exit point and customer traffic flow will be one-way only.  The number of people entering the market area will be restricted and physical distancing will be required at all times.  Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the market area.

Where possible, shoppers are also encouraged to pre-order and pre-pay by directly contacting our vendors ahead of time.  Please see our website for product and contact information (www.millbrookfarmersmarket.weebly.com).

And, finally, so unlike our usual farmers’ markets, customers should come prepared to “get in and get out” with limited social interaction.  The socializing, brunching, music, StoryTree, and used book sales will all have to wait until another time.   On behalf of our Vendor Management Committee, we thank you in advance for your cooperation and support as we resume our market operations.  Let’s keep everyone safe as we shop!
