Of the many local cancelled events these past few months, one of the real crowd pleasers is July’s annual Classic Car Show organized annually by the Millbrook and District Lions Club and the Millbrook BIA.

Recognizing this hole in the community’s schedule, Peter Ramsay has paid tribute to this event with a stellar display of vintage and classic miniatures, angle-parked in the display case at the Millbrook Branch of the Cavan-Monaghan Library.  Complete with a backdrop of the downtown heritage streetscape, this exhibit, like the Classics we missed this past summer, features a broad array of sedans, sports coupes, a “woody” or two, and several highlights like the ’57 Chevy Desk Phone.

But be warned!  Time is running out to take in this event and admire the gleaming chrome because Peter is getting all geared up to install his annual vintage Christmas collection.  Check with the Millbrook Branch library for hours of operation and be sure to tour the show.

Peter Ramsay is the curator of the Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society display case that he personally restored several years ago.  This elegant piece was originally in use at Fowler’s Men’s Wear (formerly Fowler and Pendrie, and before that, Fowler and Kells in the late 19th century) at 17 King Street East in Millbrook.

Peter is an avid collector of curios and curiosities, but welcomes the loan of other people’s collections of locally significant and historically interesting items for display.   For details on how you can lend exhibit items, please contact Peter, 705-932-3003.
