Council Chooses Mayor as Advisor to Peterborough Police Services Board By

Leonard Knott

Before this week’s Cavan Monaghan Township Council meeting, it seemed the public was going to be canvassed by posters or newspaper ads for an advisor to the Peterborough Police Services Board. There was discussion about how best to attract candidates.

That changed this week.

When the matter was raised, Deputy Mayor John Fallis said he and Mayor Scott McFadden had discussed Fallis being the new Advisor as he had been with the former police services board. Fallis told the Mayor that, as he would miss the first meeting, he would recommend Mayor McFadden take on the role. The Mayor agreed and by Council vote, he is the new Advisor.
