Community Events – April 2022

It’s back!  Our most-read section makes a come back with the re-opening as our best-loved community organizations make a tentative start to a return to “normal”, whatever that looks like.

Pancake Breakfast: Saturday, April 2nd and Sunday, April 3rd at the Millbrook Legion.

Seedy Saturday: Saturday, April 2nd from 10 am until noon at the Bethany Old Post Office, 1480 Hwy 7A hosted by the Manvers Historical Society.  Selling locally-produced seeds at $3 per packet.  Easter Chocolate bunnies also available for sale.  Help celebrate the year of the garden!

Community Care Luncheon: Thursday, April 21th at noon at Kawartha Downs, 1382 County Rd. 28, Fraserville.  Ham dinner, tea/coffe and dessert $14.  Tickets must be purchased by April 15th through Community Care, 705-932-2011. 

Children’s Fishing Derby: Saturday, April 30th from 8 am until noon for participants 12 years and under.  Come to the Millpond at 1 Needler’s Lane.  Hosted by the Millbrook & District Lions’ Club and Trout Unlimited, Millbrook Chapter.  Registration $2.

Grafting Workshop:  May 7th weather permitting, join fruit tree expert Andy Harjula at his home at 198 Jack Lane in Cavan from 9 am – noon and 1 to 4pm.  Each participant will receive an apple tree and will learn how to graft two more cultivars onto it, taking home 3 apple trees in one.  Registration $40.

Spring Fling: Saturday, June 4th  in downtown Millbrook.  Hosted by the Millbrook Business Improvement Area.  Family-friendly event, details to follow.
