Comment – October 2024

The downtown planters have been switched over for the season and the Legion banners are flying in town, so Remembrance day is on its way.  For the first time, Millbrook’s Remembrance Day service will not feature any local WWII veterans with the passing this year of our last representative of that generation, the incomparable Bill Bellinger.

Perhaps this is a sign that we focus our thanks towards current members of our armed forces who serve on land, sea and in the air with the Navy, Army, Air Force and Special Forces, defending Canada’s national interests at home and abroad.  To thank them properly it would help to know who they are.

If you or a family member is among those who have or who continue to serve, please send us a photo with a brief description of their branch and share any information about their role.  Their images will included in a recognition of their contribution to our nation in the November edition of this paper.   Thanks, KG
