The joy and relaxation of summer months has been jarred this month by two tragic local fires.  The silver lining in tragedies like these is often found in the response of friends, neighbours, and even strangers who rally to support the victims of these events, as evidenced by the benefit dance outlined in “Golden Wheel to Host Benefit Dance for Fire Victims.”

The Winslow’s of Sharpe Line also felt the support of the local agricultural community who came to their aid after their terrible barn fire.  It’s important to keep this bond of community in mind as we enter a municipal election period where our differences may become more visible than our differences.  We are working towards a better, stronger community.  Let’s see if we can agree on what that looks like.  KG
