Collaboration Works for Local Women in Business

These ladies get it done together, embracing the notion that we’re all in this together.

Pictured are five local business women supporting each other in their business endeavours.  Last month, their skills were applied to a local home listed for sale by Kathie Lycett, pictured right, with great success.

A recent arrival in the village, Kristy Gosse, pictured centre, is a home decorator and stager.  She often helps local realtors including Kathie Lycett and Jordie Westbrook of Remax to improve the appearance of listed homes which increases their appeal and helps generate offers.  In this situation, Kathie asked Kristy to consider using the wares of three local downtown merchants in her staging efforts.  After browsing the store offerings, Kristy went to work, turning a sad, unloved property previously occupied by tenants into a cozy home where potential buyers could see themselves settling in.

Charlotte Clements pictured left, owns and operates the Joneses, a local consignment store featuring stylish, upcycled furniture and home décor products. Some of her stylish pieces were used to demonstrate potential uses for unfurnished rooms.  Her photography talents were also used in the production of marketing material used in the listing.

Second from the left is Louise Kennedy of the Valley Shoppe.  Plants and décor sprinkled judiciously brought life and colour during the drab days of the listing.

Quilts from Kate DeKlerck’s Quilter’s Bolt (second from right) added colour and warmth to bedrooms and living spaces.

Despite an extensive snow storm, the property attracted a stream of potential buyers and a viable offer for the property was received within four days of its mls listing, and new owners take possession this week.  Collaboration at its best- congratulations, ladies.  KG
