The Board of Directors of Maple Leaf Cavan FC has been monitoring local and provincial updates regarding COVID-19 very closely as it considered the 2020 House League season. The Board also reflected on Ontario Soccer direction suspending all in-person soccer activities until the end of June.
On May 13, 2020, Directors made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the 2020 House League season out of an abundance of precaution for the health and well-being of our soccer families and our community at large.
We understand some may be disappointed by the decision. However, as a Club, it is our duty to act responsibly and help safeguard the health of our players and families, officials and volunteers given the uncertainty about Covid-19.
The MLCFC Board has directed a full refund of fees for House League players and Sponsors who registered for the 2020 season. Refund Request Form can be found on the Club’s website www.mlcfcsoccer.com and on our Facebook page.
However, the Club wonders if you would consider taking only a partial refund to help offset some fixed expenses they incur including insurance, website hosting, banking and PayPal fees, equipment repairs and maintenance, audit and bookkeeper costs that must still be covered for 2020. Without our House League program, it will be exceedingly difficult for our Club to meet those financial obligations.
Are you able to contribute and help offset our 2020 expenses? Please let us know if you can donate $10, $15, $20 or $25. Donations will help ensure a season next year and help to reduce or eliminate the need for higher fees in 2021.
You will be receiving an email from our sponsorship co-ordinator, Andrea Pollock to arrange a refund or to have us hold your sponsorship for next season. Any questions, please email Andrea at sponsorship@mlcfc.com
Please complete and submit the Refund Request Form and we will then process your refund. Your refund will be credited back to the credit card or bank account used for the original registration payment. Please submit this form before July 1st, 2020. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the administrative process of issuing 1200 refunds which may take up to 4 weeks.
The club hopes to see their members back with Maple Leaf Cavan FC in 2021.
