Churches on the Move

It will probably not come as a surprise to anyone that the pandemic has provided some interesting challenges for our churches.

How can we be the church and serve in our communities during such times as these?

Many churches have found new ways of serving during the past few years. Worship services are being streamed on websites and posted on YouTube making worship available to more people than ever before.  Zoom coffee times and support groups have sprung up. Our local Harmony Pastoral Charge made up of   Millbrook Cavan United Church and Bailieboro Springville United Church have continued to be very active during the pandemic. We make sandwiches to support the outreach of One Roof Centre in Peterborough. We have also provided very generous financial support for local charities and services including but not limited to PRHC, Hospice, Food Share, Habitat for Humanity, the Library and Community Care.

But the reality is, church attendance is on the decline. As a result Harmony Pastoral Charge and Centreville Presbyterian Church have decided to enter into exciting and courageous discussions about our future as the church in this community. Together we are exploring the possibility of coming together to form a Community Church.

In an era when so many churches are closing, these United/Presbyterian conversations about building something new are indeed Good News.

If you would like to join us for worship you will be warmly welcomed. You can find us, United and Presbyterians together, at 10:00 Sunday mornings at Centreville Presbyterian church located at the corner of Zion Line and Highway 28.  Our services can also be found on our website, harmonypastoralcharge.com

Everyone is welcome and a Sunday School program is available for children.
