Christmas at our Libraries

Is it December already?!  Are you ready to get in the Christmas spirit? Join us at the Bruce Johnston Branch Saturday, Dec 1st, 11:00 am, where we will be decorating for the holidays. We will also be making felt Christmas trees and decorations at the Bruce Johnston Branch, Saturday Dec 1st, 10:00am (please reserve your materials outreach@cmlibraries.ca). The finished product is a great activity for busy toddlers! We are screening “Crazy Rich Asians” for our Toonie Movie on Tuesday, Dec 4th 6:30pm (Millbrook Branch). Then starting December 5th we look forward to helping you find some downtime over this month by offering a hygge inspired space in the Harry Williams Room at the Millbrook Branch. Join us for adult colouring, quiet reading, crosswords, and other cozy activities. On Thursday, December 6th we will be participating in Christmas in the Village. We will be raising funds for the library by selling items made from our Knit it Forward Club. We have lots of knit dishcloths, mittens, headbands, scarfs, and more! Purchasing these handmade items is a great way to stay warm and support the libraries. Our amazing Cookbook Club (accepting new members) will be hosting a Cookie Exchange on Saturday, December 8th from 1:30pm- 2:30pm at the Millbrook Branch.

Looking to join? Email Melanie at outreach@cmlibraries.ca. Just in time to welcome Santa to the village for the Santa Claus Parade, the Millbrook branch will be offering a Christmas Craft Fair and Café on Saturday, December 8th from 10:00am to noon. Our Homeschool Hub will meet on Wednesday, December 12th at 10:00am where we will wrap up our “Warm up with a Winter Story Writing Challenge”.  We continue to offer Cyber Seniors the third Thursday of the month at 11:30am at the Millbrook Branch, this is great for those struggling with various aspects of technology. Following this program (1:00pm Millbrook Branch) we are offering a drop-in tutorial on using Ancestry Library Edition. And last but not least, the library will be closed for the holidays from December 23rd and we reopen January 2nd. Thank you to all our patrons for a wonderful year, with many stories read and shared, connections made at events and programs, it has been great to interact with all of you. Looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year!
