Chemong Chimney has a complete range of fireplace products using fuel of all types from wood, natural gas, propane to wood pellets. In operation since 1993, the family-owned business delivers their customers’ fireplace or stove projects from start to finish, including framing, installation and masonry, and all work is performed by their own trained, certified and insured staff.
Ken Monk began the business with his wife Cathy after working for 10 years at Rehill Building Supplies in Peterborough, where he helped customers select the right product for their home and then installing them. After a change in ownership, he decided it was time to go out on his own.
Their extensive showroom in Bridgenorth holds an impressive array of their product offerings, which come from a wide range of suppliers. Seeing this many choices on the floor makes it a bit easier for customers to visualize their space and select the best type and style of fireplace or stove for their home. Before they visit the store, customers can do their own homework. The company website has the Firebuilder modelling program. The application allows customers to use photos of their own homes and preview different products in their own settings to see what appeals.
These days modern, linear styles are more popular, but the firm offers traditional wood-burning stoves as well. All of them are all low-emission models meeting the changes in building code that come into effect in 2020. Before the final decision, the owner provides a free in-home consultation to help the customer make the perfect choice.
In addition to fireplaces, the firm provides prefab chimneys and steel liners for existing installations and performs WETT Inspections.
