Celebrating Community Champs!

Collection Lyle Nattress. Post card signed Harold.Holding hose, Harry and Harold Nattress, (tall man) Sid Fitzgerald, George Harrington (Hydro).Sam Donnelly’s stable behind fire engine.

On Thursday, October 12 at the Legion Hall in Millbrook, come and celebrate the commitment, skill and dedication of some of our local heroes.  Responding to local floods, fires, tornadoes and explosions is just part of what our First Responders do and have done over the years.

We look forward to hearing some of the stories that made the headlines in times gone by.  While many events have been tragic and catastrophic, there are many moments of resilience and recovery to celebrate.

Members of the Cavan Monaghan Firefighters Association will be on hand to take you on a tour of the Old Fire Hall Museum before the stories begin.  Photos and newspaper reports of some of the events that have changed our landscape will be on display.

Bringing the community together to share stories is one of the things the Millbrook & Cavan Historical Society loves to do.  All are welcome.  The evening is free for MCHS members and all First Responders, and by donation for all our guests.  See the MCHS website, millbrookcavanhs.org, or follow us on Facebook for details.

This gathering begins at 7:00 pm with tours of the Old Fire Hall Museum and conversation and refreshments in the Legion Hall, downtown Millbrook.  Look for Henry, the fire truck parked out front!
