Cavan Monaghan Receives Second Quarter OLG Payment

In October, Cavan Monaghan received a payment of $85,055 representing the second quarter gaming revenue (July 1st to September 30th) for hosting Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs.

This brings OLG’s total contribution to the municipality since the gaming site opened in November 1999 to $61,871,119.

The City of Peterborough received $732,249 for this quarter, bringing their total receipts since the Peterborough gaming site opened in October 2018 to $13,844,047.

Payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.  Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.1 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.  Funds are used to strengthen local infrastructure and support community programs as determined by the municipal recipients.
