Driving winds on Monday drove the funding announcement to assist in the extension of Fallis Line East indoors. Cavan Monaghan will receive $1,271,875 from the provincial Housing-Enabling Core Servicing Stream under the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program.
Cavan Monaghan will receive funding of up to $1,271,875 from the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program to help fund the extension of Fallis Line east of County Rd. 10.
This funding will help expedite the development of the unopened road allowance which will provide access to two new planning projects: one to the north which includes a commercial area as well as some residential development and the subdivision to the south of the road allowance. The two projects include the creation of up to 300 new residential units as well as commercial development along the east side of County Rd. 10 north of Fallis Line. The developer will also contribute to this expenditure. The unopened road allowance is owned by Cavan Monaghan.
The objective of the provincial funding program is to help municipalities establish critical infrastructure to ensure new homes are connected to reliable roads. Cavan Monaghan funding is being delivered through the Housing-Enabling Core Servicing Stream under the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program. Funding from this program is targeted to the construction of municipal roads, bridges and culverts that keep residents safe and foster stronger, more connected communities across Ontario, according to the Minister of Infrastructure.
“I pleased to announce that the province is supporting our growing rural communities… This is one of the many important steps our government has taken to bolster infrastructure, connectivity, and promote a high quality of life in rural Ontario” said Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock.
