St Paul’s Anglican Cemetery and Chapel at 1304 Zion Line, Millbrook was established in 1819and is one of the oldest cemeteries in Ontario.
The care and continuation of the cemetery and grounds are overseen by St. Thomas Anglican Church in Millbrook. The cemetery is managed by a Board of Trustees that is appointed by the church wardens. The cemetery by-laws are set by the Board adhering to the regulations set by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario.
The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is a government delegated authority and not-for-profit corporation administering provisions of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act,2002 (FBCSA). It is accountable to the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement and the government and is responsible for the protection of the public interest. The BAO regulates, ensures compliance with the law, provides resources and services to :
- Funeral establishment operators, directors and preplanners
- Cemetery, crematorium and alternative disposition operators
Recently the St Paul’s Cemetery Board has revised the by-laws and is required to make this document available for public review. The by-law draft can be found on the following website: www.stthomasanglicanchurchmillbrook.com.After a period of 4 weeks the by-laws will be submitted to the BAO for review and approval.
