Beat the Winter Blues with These Hot Events at the CMLibraries…

Kicking off this month is our Toonie Tuesday movie. Join us at the Millbrook Branch for a screening of the much celebrated Oscar winner, ‘Parasite’. Grab your popcorn and take a seat, show time is at 6:30pm. With a giant screen, great sound system, and plenty of seating, it’s a hot ticket.

Have you registered your child for kindergarten recently? We will be offering our Kindergarten Readiness program Thursdays 11am at the Bruce Johnston Branch, and Fridays 11am at the Millbrook Branch. Each week we will work on phonics, letter and sight word recognition, use of scissors, building independence (opening and closing food containers, zippers, laces, etc.), printing skills and more all within a play! This is a great way to get children excited for their transition into school.

Our fundraising activities to raise money for animals impacted by the Australian bushfires continue. We made great progress during the month of February and were thrilled with the support from the community. As always, anyone is welcome to participate, there are many different tasks, from the more complex and suited to the experienced crafter, to easy peasy and great for those looking to participate. Join us at the Millbrook Branch, Saturday, March 7th at 12pm and the Bruce Johnston Branch, Saturday, March 21st at 12pm.

March Break is just a few weeks away and we are offering a variety of drop in programs for children of all ages. Do you have a mini chef at home? Bring them to the Bruce Johnston Branch on Tuesday, March 17th at 11am where we will be hosting a pizza party. Learn how to make your own dough, and then create your own personal pizza. While we wait for the pizzas to bake, there will be a design your own mini putt activity. We will have a variety of programs that will be running during library hours, all you have to do is drop in and enjoy! You can pack a picnic and join us at our makeshift beach, enjoy our vertical LEGO board, get green and plant seeds, enjoy a Friday afternoon movie, and try your hand at an escape quest. For all the details on locations, times, and if registration is required grab our newsletter, available at your local branch or sign up for our electronic newsletter via our website.
