Banks’ Contribution To Archives

Millbrook-Cavan Historical Society archivist Kim McLeod (left) takes delivery from Ottawa residents Ivor and Joan Banks of the Banks family records. Mr. Banks’ father, George, expanded his well established construction business in Great Britain to Bailieboro,
setting up at the northwest corner of County Road 28 and Carmel Line, shortly after World War II. His sons headed up the Canadian Branch of the enterprise, and brought with them many skilled tradesmen. Among their projects was the Cherney house at 99
Roper Drive in Peterborough, designed by internationally renowned architect Eberhard Zeidler.
