Auction for the Belize Children

Pictured is John MacFarlane, in front, our local bee keeper and Alpaca farmer who lives in Ida. John is assisting Jason McIntosh (behind John) who was the auctioneer of the 80 items that were sold Saturday, January 25. With Jason’s formidable persuasive powers, he and the silent auction raised $5000 for the children in Belize. Chuan Wang, who operates Vanguard Kitchens, has committed to raising funds for the Belize Project when anyone chooses his company to build or rebuild their kitchen cupboards.

Three volunteer workers will be in Belize for the month of October to provide scholarships for students, fruit trees for churches, schools and farmers. One hundred percent of the funds are used in Belize, directed towards school lunches and repairs to Christ the King Anglican church. None of the funds are for administration.

One disgruntled attendee mentioned that he left the auction penniless, but they were happy with their load of loot.

Anyone who would like to sponsor a student may do so for as little as $25 a year for a primary school student by contacting Andy at 705-277-1825.
