Atom Rep Team Win First Three

Our Atom rep team sailed through their first three games in the Peterborough Atom Liftlock Tournament last month, winning in tight matches with their goalie Aiden Bons letting in a a single goal in each contest. Those matches allowed the team to play in the semi-finals on Sunday against the Kawartha Coyotes. This game proved to be the most challenging of the tournament, after a goal in the last two minutes of the game allowed Kawartha to tie things up at two goals each. After a sudden death overtime period, the teams were still even and they needed a shootout to settle the score. After five attempts, Millbrook finally pulled ahead with a shot from defense player Carsen Nottingham, allowing them to advance to the DD fame at the Memorial Centre later that afternoon. Up against the Stayner Dairy Queen team, Millbrook scored early, but near the end of the second period, Stayner snagged a goal. It was well into the third period when Rowan Arcade came back with his second goal of the game and after the their goal, Stayner pulled their goalie to no avail, as an empty net goal sailed into their net. The Millbrook Rep team celebrated a hard-earned victory that they will never forget.
