Hello Cavan Monaghan Library patrons! Wondering what your library card can offer you this month? We have an amazing selection of new books arriving to curl up with in this cooler weather. Looking for a book we don’t have? We can order it through interlibrary loan services! Keep in mind that there is a library closure for the Millbrook branch, it will be undergoing maintenance work and will be closed for library services from Sunday, Nov. 4th-Monday, Nov. 19th. Thank-you to the Township for coordinating this.
Is there a senior in your life looking to get online and connected? We will be starting a ‘Cyber Seniors’ program on Thursday, Nov. 22nd at 11:30am. This will be a tutorial style workshop that takes place over the next few months. Just in time to send some emails and connect with friends and relatives in all corners of the world over the holidays.
This program also ties in neatly to our Library Edition Ancestry program offered on Thursday, Nov 22nd at 1:00pm.
We continue to offer our monthly programs: Cookbook Club (BJB: Saturday, November 24th, 1:30pm-2:30pm) and Knit it Forward Club (MB: Saturday, Nov. 3rd @ 11:00am and BJB: Tuesday, Nov. 20th @ 2:00pm).
This month for our cookbook club we are diving into all the comfort of soups and stews. Knitting patterns this month will be knitted cacti and a continuation of mittens (some supplies available upon request at outreach@cavanmonaghanlibraries.ca). Also, we will be trying our hand at paint poured coasters (MB: Saturday, Nov. 24th, 1:30pm-2:30pm).
This program will use acrylic paint which stains, you have been warned! Be sure to reserve your spot at outreach@cavanmonaghanlibraries.ca. The ever popular Crafting with Judi will be working on recycling old Christmas cards into bookmarks, pillowcase boxes and ornaments (BJB: Tuesday, Nov 20th @ 4:00pm, MB: Saturday, Nov 24 @ 10:30am).
Our Homeschool Hub will meet at the Bruce Johnston Branch on Wednesday, Nov 14th at 10:00am. Looking forward to the toys that everyone has made for the first learning project!
