Appreciation from Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation

Letter to the Editor

On behalf of the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Millbrook Needlers for their beautiful donated quilts, pillowcases and knitted clothing. The children who receive these items are currently being assisted by the Kawartha -Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. Sometimes these children are taken from their homes, but often these hand-made items are delivered to families working with CAS and who do not have adequate resources to meet their basic needs. The community work undertaken by the Millbrook Needlers is a testament to what defines the caring spirit in Millbrook.

We would also like to thank the Millbrook Business Improvement Area for inviting us to participate at Ladies’ Night “Girls Night Out”. Despite the windy conditions it was such a fun evening. Elvis was certainly the star of the show! We were so pleased that so many residents stopped by to find out more about our Foundation.

Thank you for making us a part of your wonderful community and for the gifts you have given to our local children whose lives are adversely affected by their home situation.

Yours sincerely,

Deb Aben, Executive Director, Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation
