Another Successful Petes’ Fundraising Event for Minor Hockey

On September 23rd, the Peterborough Petes played one of their pre-season games once again at the CMCC.  The event was hosted by Millbrook Minor Hockey as a fundraiser in their efforts to subsidize registration fees to keep the cost of hockey more affordable.

This was the third time the club organized this event.  Thanks to the generosity of the OHL team, it has become one of minor hockey’s most successful annual fundraising events, and one where the entire community can participate.

The club is grateful for the support provided for the event by Millbrook Home Hardware and The Shack pro shop who assisted with ticket sales, and the Township which supported the event logistically and by approving the single event alcohol licensing,  increasing the revenue potential for the club.

Joining the opposing players in the ceremonial puck-drop in the photo above are Minor Hockey player Riggins Philp and his father Tyler who is a coach and mentor to Millbrook rep teams, owns and operates The Shack, with Dean Gould representing Millbrook Home Hardware.

The club would like to thank the volunteer firefighters for their time and effort in assisting us with crowd management and the overall safety of the event, ensuring it proceeded without a hitch.  The only improvement the club hopes to make should they go for a 4th time next year is to have a sell-out crowd.  Congratulations!
