Families were treated once again to the Annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Centennial Place where they looked for a gold ticket hidden in plastic eggs, had their photo taken with the Easter Bunny, saw some live chicks keeping warm in an aquarium and had some fun with CM Library staff making crafts and having their faces painted. Weather Doesn’t Deter Easter Egg Hunters

The every-popular annual Easter Egg hunt hosted by Centennial Place occurred on what felt like the coldest day of March.  That didn’t stop children from coming to test their egg collection skills, enjoy a photo-op with the Easter Bunny and craft and face-painting organized by the CM Library staff.

The hunt was segregated into three age groups to allow for a fair competition.  Each group was looking for a gold ticket hidden in one of the plastic eggs scattered throughout their search areas.  The youngest group collected eggs inside, while the older children picked up eggs in garden beds, tree branches and a few in some lingering snowbanks.  The gold ticket entitled the lucky winners to one of three bicycles donated by DC Landscape, Centennial Place Life Enrichment Department and Centennial Place Resident Council.  No one walked away empty-handed, as all participants were invited to collect a goody bag of Easter treats.

The real beneficiaries of the event are the residents who enjoyed watching the antics in the Fireside lounge or from their bedroom windows.  Congratulations to Centennial Place staff for organizing intergenerational events like this which allow their residents to connect with the community.  KG
